Shipley Do-Nuts Sold Again — But You Can Still Get the Original Coffee

Shipley Do-Nuts, a beloved Texas institution since 1936, has once again changed hands—this time landing with a California-based private equity firm. This follows a previous acquisition by an Austin-based firm, marking yet another shift in ownership for a brand that holds deep roots in Texas.

But while the business may be changing, one thing hasn't: the coffee that helped define the original Shipley’s experience is still available—and it's still coming from us at Bright and Early Coffee.

We Were the Original Coffee Behind Shipley’s

Before the ownership changes, before the national expansion plans, and long before private equity stepped in, Bright and Early Coffee worked directly with the Shipley family to provide the signature coffee served at their shops across Texas. For years, we were their trusted coffee supplier—hand-selected by the family to pair perfectly with a hot glazed donut and early morning customers.

We’re proud of that partnership and the role we played in helping shape the full Shipley’s experience so many Texans grew up with.

We Don’t Roast for Shipley’s Anymore—But the Coffee Lives On

While we no longer roast Shipley’s coffee for their stores, we’ve kept the tradition alive for customers who still crave that classic taste.

You can still buy the original Shipley’s coffee—the same coffee we once proudly roasted for their shops—direct from us at Bright and Early Coffee, available both on our website and on Amazon in convenient Shipley’s-labeled K-Cups.

It’s the easiest way to enjoy a taste of Texas tradition at home—no matter who owns the donuts.

Shipley’s may have new owners, but the original coffee lives on.
Still bold. Still smooth. Still available—from Bright and Early.
